Driving Question: What would be your song for functions?
What I have learned:
I have learned the slope intercept form which is y=mx+b. Slope is represented by m, as well as, b being represented by the y- intercept form. How to solve an equation and find the inverse of that equation. Slope, being represented by m, is equal to finding the rise over run. I have received great knowledge from this project in a very fun and productive way.
Reflective Questions:
How did you write your song's lyrics?
Based on the original lyrics, I situated the math within the tone of each lyric.
What will people learn when they listen to this song?
How to solve a linear function.
What did you learn when your were doing this project?
That making a song was quit difficult but it is easy to understand a problem when creating something that comes naturally to you an that fits well with you.
What is your own definition of function?
A formula made to help solve a problem.
How did you decide which music you used?
The song I chose is well known.
How did you decide to do your music video?
I chose to do a lyric video so that whomever watches it may sing a long.
Lyrics to " Blazed in Math"
I've been thinking, I've been thinking
I get happy when the function gets me thinking
I've been thinking, I've been thinking
Is there a function to answer this question?
I want to know, na na
Is there a function to answer this question?
I want to know, na na
These are some functions, these are some functions
y=m x+ b feeling like a smarty with my brain all in the knowing
Remember m is slope
And b is y cept.
Graphing this, graphing this
You got me solvin', solvin', solvin'
b-b is on the y-axis,
m is rise, over run
Got this algebraic reading
find the equation of m=4
Through the points of -1 and 6,
blazed in math, we be all day
Lets solve this equation using y= m x + b
Blazing in Math
We be all day, solving
We be all day, solvin
We be all day,
first thing we do is plug in the equation
and find what b= too
plugin It in
-6=-4+b
-2=b =b on that y axis, see?
Yeah, I'm blazing, get my math right
now we making this equation tight
Now the answer is y= 4 x - 2, math is blazing
